The local Arabian Bemco Contracting has been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a grassroots bulk plant in Medina.
The client on the estimated SR 200 million ($53.3 million) project is Saudi Aramco. The 26-month contract calls for the construction of a bulk plant with storage capacity of 510,000 barrels of product, eight truck-loading islands distributed in two loading racks and related infrastructure.
Among the other bidders for the contract were Al-Hammam Company for Construction & Maintenance, Al-Imad Company, Metal Services for Trading & Contracting (MSTC) and Al-Shuwayer Company, all local, Lebanon’s Contracting & Trading (CAT), Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC), Cyprus-based Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P) and Italy’s Saipem.
